This month is when our church family pauses to express appreciation to our volunteers – our unsalaried staff of all ages who when counted, are more than 100 individuals, and if parents who prepare on-the-run meals and do the chauffeuring are added, the count can be tripled.
Each of you is a link in the chain that pulls the weight of the ministries that happen here and beyond our congregation; you are the working parts in the Apostle Paul’s image of the church that is like a body with many members. Also imagine how we take time to care for this “body” with the regular exercise of prayer and, when a person is broken in body or spirit, we turn aside to practice the healing service of visiting, feeding, cleaning, running errands, listening, and holding hands. How gifted some of you are for this ministry and how appreciative the recipients are for your kindness; and how blessed we are that all of you are ready to personalize the hymn: O use me, Lord, use even me, just as you will and when and where.”
This is the month to express a Trinitarian thanks to the Trinity Church family: “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” and extend it to people who enable graduates to graduate, fathers and father-like individuals who care for us, and most of all – our Parent God who loves us with an everlasting love.
Come, let us thank our gracious God, in worship!
Your Pastor, Martha B. Kriebel +
